ROOM TO READ ILLUSTRATORS WORKSHOP
Room to Read will be running a series of writers and illustrators workshops across four provinces, Gauteng, Limpopo, Northern Cape and Western Cape.

The
workshops consist of part 1 and part 2, off which part 1 of writing
workshops focuses on “How a child reads”, “Writing for Foundation Phase
Students and Intermediate School Students”, “Plot lines in children’s
books. Part 2 which is follow up workshop should focus on “
Working with illustrators”, brainstorming and creativity and we expect
the writers to produce their draft manuscripts from the workshop and
group critique. Illustrations workshop involves the illustrating of
children literature books. We have scheduled the following dates
for the Gauteng Illustrators workshops.

Time: 10am to 15pm
For each
of the workshops we are aiming at 15 participants. From these workshops
we will select the manuscripts that we think will best be suitable for
publication as Room to Read South Africa’s 2010 titles. We do not
provide transportation and accommodation to the participants but we
provide all workshop material, including lunch.
