New Graffiti By-Laws for Cape Town

The City of Cape Town has drafted a new by-law to stop the spread of graffiti within its area of jurisdiction. There are new by-laws governing GRAFFITI in Cape Town. You know this already, and we know they are not to your taste. Drafting in VANSA was done without consulting us, but thats where it is. Below is the step-by-step guide:

1. Be a paid up member of VANSA - check in with Hope or Cheryl on 021 465 7895 or hope@vansa.co.za, its only R75.00

2. Your FIRST 5 permits need to go the whole-hog-regular-route through Lesley Truter at the City. If you haven't yet met her she is super approachable and will really help facilitate. Contact her on 021 4001666 or Lesley.Truter@capetown.gov.za

3. After 5 official permits, VANSA members can self permit, as long as the relevant permissions from owners and neighbours are in place. N.B.: All forms are still to be submitted to the City's Arts and Culture Department for checking and record keeping.

4. Make sure you are a paid up member TODAY: for us to be accountable you need to be too.
