How will it affect the world, our country, you and generations to come?
How can we slow it down? Or adapt to it?
Simply create your own interpretation of the competition theme
“Climate Change, The Future, and Me” in a positive artistic way…
ENTRY DEADLINE: Send your original artwork to us before Monday 17th October 2011 and it could be part of a semi-permanent feature along the Durban beachfront.
The organizers will reproduce your artwork by means of a high resolution digital photograph, then digitally print it suitable for outdoor exhibition.
Which means 20 000 or more delegates of the biggest climate change conference
in the world - COP17/CMP7 - could see it!
As well as the residents of Durban and tourists from around the world - YOUR ARTWORK COULD BE ON PERMANENT DISPLAY!
Public Art Exhibition: RULES
- Anyone living in eThekwini can enter. Proof of residence may be required
- You can enter as many artworks as you like
- Enter as a group or individual
- Artworks must be delivered to YOUR NEAREST ETHEKWINI LIBRARY
- Each artwork should be no bigger than 1000mm x 1000mm
- The artist’s name and contact details should be attached to the artwork
- The deadline is Monday October 17th 2011
- The artworks will be judged by a select panel, the judges’ decision is
final and no further discussion will be entered into - Artworks that are not selected can be collected from the drop-off point.
Artwork selected for the final exhibition will be returned to the drop-off point
(e.g. school / library / community centre etc) after reproduction - Selected artworks will be professionally reproduced and digitally
printed on weatherproof panels to be displayed along the beachfront - The City of Durban retains the right to promote and distributed images of
the selected artworks at its discretion - There is no monetary prize. The prize is the privilege of having the
artwork on semi-permanent display for all visitors to the Durban beachfront to
see and appreciate
