The Candidate

The individual should have arts administration experience and background. They should have a passion and patience for youth. They should be a multi-tasker, self-starter and systematic. A proven record in arts education and youth development is an advantage.

Furthermore, the candidate should possess the following basic skills set:

  • Above average communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Bookkeeping skills
  • Knowledge of the arts (visual, music, dance, theatre, creative writing)
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office (knowing Microsoft Excel is an advantage)
  • Work under pressure & meet deadlines
  • Plan and organise
  • Communicate and present effectively
  • Write and report
  • Maintain up to date databases

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to work in a team while maintaining a healthy dose of independent thought and initiative.

The Role

The individual will work closely with the co-directors, organisational accountant, programme coordinator and contractors to:

  • Ensure logistical support for the smooth implementation of Keleketla projects, workshops and events
  • Build sustained relationships with collaborators, youth, teachers and parents underpinned by professionally presented, timeous and accurate communication
  • Manage professionally run and well-maintained workshop and office spaces
  • Administer payments related to all projects, overheads and core human resources, following organisational policies, procedures and authorisation framework
  • Manage all tax-related obligations of the organisation
  • Maintain financial records and prepare all documentation for accountant, including ensuring that all documentation associated with expenditure is collated; liaise with the accountant on a monthly basis for transfer of all financial records
  • Manage schedule of funder application and reporting and prepare funder-specific financial reports timeously
  • Ensure that all organisational documents and materials are filed in an accessible and logical system, both digitally and in hard copy;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the Directors
