With the Games held under the ANOCA (an Olympic Family Member) banner, the logo should not depart from the Olympic colours of blue, black, red, yellow and red. The logo should be of the type that could be used on anything, from small effects such as lapel pins to big artworks such as billboards. The prize is a once off cash amount of P10, 000.00 to the winner.

The 2nd African Youth Games are to be held in 2014. Botswana has expressed interest in hosting the Games which are for athletes aged 18 years and younger, and the BNOC is currently working on the final details of a bid book in respect of the Games. For all major Games organised within Olympic and Commonwealth movements, a logo is developed as the distinctive symbol of each Games. The BNOC has therefore partnered with Thapong Visual Arts Centre to run a competition for the design of a logo for the 2nd African Youth Games.
