We would like your participation for the 2nd celebration of Ekurhuleni’s dynamic visual arts initiative… 30/30 EKURHULENI GROUP ART EXHIBITION 2012
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s (EMM) Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture is organizing 30|30 group art exhibition featuring works of mid-career artists working in a contemporary idiom; from Ekurhuleni, to be held at the Springs Art Gallery, Springs, on Saturday 25 February – Friday 30 March 2012.
The 3|30 artists are chosen directly by Section Visual Arts and Crafts Representatives for dynamic, inventive and provocative work of all mediums - sculpture, photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration, installation, graphic design, video, and more!
30|30 Ekurhuleni Artists, aim to raise public awareness of Ekurhuleni based visual artists by providing opportunities to meet them and see their work at location in Ekurhuleni. The show spotlights a group of Ekurhuleni based artists who embody a range and diversity of the community – varying in age, background, neighbourhood, media and level of recognition. The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue to record the exhibition and to add in the body of knowledge, which is much needed by schools and art patrons
The event is designed to bring together scholars, educators, curators, practicing artists and others interested in Ekurhuleni.
You are invited to participate and this will entail:
1 x original piece of artwork considered to be an artistic product of an individual
No fees are required
General arrangements:
Although physical submissions do not require a conceptual write-up, artists are encouraged to include a synopsis of 250 words outlining the central idea or concept.

Mounting the exhibition:
A single work with all its components may not exceed 150cm x 150cm x 150cm in any direction.
Paintings must be properly framed or stretched on a sturdy stretcher frame. Works on paper must be properly mounted and framed. If works are not framed when entered for the show, full instructions and all materials must be supplied. Sculptures must be able to stand firmly and must be stable.
The Art Gallery reserves the right to make improvements to the exhibition to achieve a professional appearance.
The Art Gallery curators will gladly give advice on the hanging of the artworks.
Risks/ Insurance:
Although works will receive professional care and the usual safety precautions will apply, the organizers will take no responsibility for damage or loss of works during exhibition. Artist may arrange for insurance themselves
