INVITATION TO TENDER FOR:
PUBLIC ART COMPETITIONS FOR MARY FITZGERALD SQUARE AND THE BRAAMFONTEIN COMMUTER LINKS UPGRADE
The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) invites individuals and companies to submit proposals for The Mary Fitzgerald Square sculpture competition and the Commuter Links sculpture competition in Braamfontein.
Applicants from companies, joint ventures, individuals, artist groups or collectives experienced in media suited to outdoor public artwork are hereby invited to submit proposals for the production of public artworks to be located:
a) on Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, and
b) on the corner of Biccard and Leyds Streets in the Commuter Links precinct around Park Station in Braamfontein.
Briefing documents may be collected free of charge from reception at the Johannesburg Development Agency, Ground Floor, 3 President Street, The Bus Factory, Johannesburg. Documents are to be collected during regular office hours (9am-4pm, Monday to Friday) from 11 - 31 March 2011.
The proposals must be placed in a sealed envelope. The words “Mary Fitzgerald Square Public Artwork Competition” or “Commuter Links Public Artwork Competition” must be clearly written or typed on the envelope. The envelope must be deposited in the tender box at the Johannesburg Development Agency, Ground Floor, 3 President Street.
Tenderers are required to submit: Full name, ID number, contact details and physical address, a short artist biography and curriculum vitae.
