Artists who want to be part of the Fringe of the massive 15 days of amazing 2010 National Arts Festival, running from 20 June to 4 July in Grahamstown this year, are being granted one final extension to ensure that their application forms are submitted by 25 January.

Last year, 424 productions totaling 1 822 performances made their way to Grahamstown to perform on the Fringe.

The Festival hosted over 170 000 visitors during 2009, and is gearing to host additional international audiences who will be in South Africa over the time of the World Cup.

The closest stadium to Grahamstown, with eight scheduled matches, is the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth. These matches include the quarter finals on the 2nd of July, as well as the 3rd/4th place playoffs on the 10th of July.

The National Arts Festival wants to provide tourists and soccer fans with the opportunity to experience "15 days of amazing" in order to catch a glimpse of the soul of South Africa through its arts, in-between watching the world's best soccer talent on display.

Performers and visitors to the National Arts Festival can once again expect the best of South African, African and international drama, music, dance, film, jazz and visual art, and a few other surprises, in various venues throughout the historic Grahamstown in 2010.

Registration forms and the Info Booklets can be requested by email - fringe@nationalartsfestival. co.za or telephone - 046 603 1103. Online submissions can be made at www.nationalartsfestival.co. za/fringe
