The new Cape Africa Platform Young Curators Programme will run for 18 months kicking off with a ten-day orientation programme in Cape Town. Orientation will take place from 21st to 30th January 2008. Participants, drawn from a pool of 28 participants are:

Bongani Mkhonza (Durban) from Durban Art Gallery
Ntando Xorile (JHB)
Loyiso Qanya (CT)
Lerato Bareng (Maseru, Lesotho)

They will undergo an intense programme featuring studio visits and city scanning with Cape Town based cultural producers as well as independently. They will also be tasked with assignments that will help them engage with the Cape Town city in the most innovative ways. The programme will help give birth to a CAPE 09 programme that is innovative unpredictable and engaging thereby shifting curatorial and critical discourses for future engagements.
