Call for Professional Craftsman in Gauteng Mid-April / June 2010
The French Institute of South Africa in collaboration with the French collectif of artists Les Grandes Personnes and the Gauteng Provincial Government is looking for craftmen in Gauteng (sculptors, visual artists, welders, weavers, seamstress, etc…) to take part in an exciting project: THE GIANT MATCH.
The project will start mid-April with a residency for 5 week artistic creation in order to build +/- 30 giant puppets in Norwood, Johannesburg. The team, which will be composed of up to 100 international and South African artists, will be headed by Les Grandes Personnes. The puppets created during the residency will perform in the framework of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
