Structure
VANSA strives to operate as a transparent and effective organisation, guided by some of the best and brightest minds in the visual arts sector, with assistance from outside legal and financial expertise.
We are a voluntary association, registered as a non-profit organisation with the Department of Social Development (NPO number: 055-622) and as a Public Benefit Organisation with the South African Revenue Services (PBO number: 93002547). Our Constitution can be downloaded here.
The organisation is governed by a National Executive Committee, which is comprised of representatives from the governance structures associated with each of our regional offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Each regional office is overseen by a committed group of people drawn from the visual arts community, government and the corporate sector. VANSA Western Cape is a distinct legal entity, registered as a Section 21 company. Its Board of Directors functions as a regional committee for VANSA, servicing the Western Cape.
